چکیده

Cellulose agricultural waste is a source of environmental pollution and an alternative solution to overcome it degrade this with the help cellulolytic enzymes. The Biochemistry Laboratory FMIPA Riau University has number endophytic bacterial isolates from roots Mangrove Ceriops tagal (Perr) C. B. Rob in Bengkalis area whose potential produce enzymes not yet known. Qualitative selection carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) solid media 24 bacteria that were able live because they produced enzymes, only 22 isolates. Quantitatively using DNS (Dinitro Salicylic Acid) method, 3 these had relatively higher activity than other isolate C-9 (LBKURCC332) was 572x10-4±0.0069U/mL, C-23(LBKURCC346) 423x10-4±0.0027U/mL C-30 (LBKURCC353) 384x10-4± 0.0003 U/mL statistically activities significantly different

Spatial and Temporal Regeneration Dynamics in Ceriops tagal ( Perr.) C.B. Rob. (Rhizophoraceae) Mangrove Forests in Kenya

Mangrove forests consist of a mosaic of tree cohorts, each having a regeneration history that depends on episodic recruitment of seedlings based on the availability of a “regeneration niche”. The aim of this study was to assess seedling population structure in Ceriops tagal natural monospecific stands and one eight-year old reforested stand at Gazi Bay, Kenya, to determine performance in terms ...

Antifouling metabolites from the mangrove plant Ceriops tagal.

The new diterpene methoxy-ent-8(14)-pimarenely-15-one (1) and three known metabolites: ent-8(14)-pimarene-15R,16-diol (2), stigmasterol (3) and beta-sitosterol (4), were isolated from the roots of the mangrove plant Ceriops tagal. Their structures and relative stereochemistry were elucidated by means of extensive NMR, IR and MS analysis. Compounds 1, 2, 3 and 4 exhibited significant antifouling...

Diversity and antibacterial activityof endophytic fungi from Ceriops tagal in Muthupet mangroves

Ceriops tagal mangrove is a small tree growing to 5-15m in hights with many buttresses at the base the bark is dark red . The aim of the research is to isolate and identify the fungal endophytes from the leaves of Ceriops tagal. Totally sixteen isolates of fungal endophytes were isolated from the leaf of Ceriops tagal. The antibacterial activity of Ceriops tagal against bacterial pathogen used ...

Transcriptional Homeostasis of a Mangrove Species, Ceriops tagal, in Saline Environments, as Revealed by Microarray Analysis

BACKGROUND Differential responses to the environmental stresses at the level of transcription play a critical role in adaptation. Mangrove species compose a dominant community in intertidal zones and form dense forests at the sea-land interface, and although the anatomical and physiological features associated with their salt-tolerant lifestyles have been well characterized, little is known abo...

Sap flow measurements of Ceriops tagal and Rhizophora mucronata mangrove trees by deuterium tracing and lysimetry.

Mangrove forest trees grow in severe conditions such as diurnal submersion and high salinity surface and subsurface waters. This study focuses on two species on Mayotte Island, i.e. Ceriops tagal and Rhizophora mucronata, living in the middle range of the coastal mangrove. The seedlings of these trees were planted in a tropical greenhouse with an original pump system built to reproduce the natu...
